Gayle’s Corner

Welcome to my little corner of MayDecember Secrets.  No telling what you’ll find here, but no doubt it will include a wide spectrum of thoughts, rantings, and possibly ravings from my “middle aged crazy” self.  Your comments are encouraged and always welcomed!

Who is Earnestine May?  She’s an earnest writer with a flair for the absurd. She’s writing a book and while it’s hard work she believes mac cheese and Coach purses will fix just about anything. Come along for the ride with Earnestine May as she learns about the world of writing, blogging, and getting published! Let’s hope she doesn’t get caught with her panties down!

Read My Miscellaneous Musings

I post a “Weekly Pondering” on my website.  Actually, I don’t know if I can really call it weekly (but I do) since it’s more like an “Every So Often Pondering.”  You’ll find an inspirational quote and my own, hopefully thought provoking, musings.

My Favorite PodCast

Who is Elliot and What is a SparkleCast?

Elliot’s Barnes lives in the UK. It’s hard to tell if he’s 8 or 38.Let’s just say there is a lot of wisdom in what appears to be a very youthful package! His podcast is a lighthearted look at new and quite interesting things with a little history thrown in. It includes listener contributions (some of my grand kids are among them),
interviews, weird facts and quirky views!   If your inner child needs a playmate or a news commentator – Elliot’s the chap for you!

Elliot’s most current show is posted here.

Elliot’s interview with Ron is in Show #34.

Elliot’s interview with me is in Show #31.

My friend “Earnestine May” made her debut in Show #30

To “meet” Elliot for the first time, listening to his first show is a great place to start.

For those of us who live here in America, it may take a bit to get your ear tuned to Elliot’s accent. You may also need a bit of help “translating”. There is a joke at the beginning of each show. It usually refers to some of his father’s hijinks.  In show number one, it’s helpful to know that muesli is a granola type cereal and that there a tiny berry called a currant (pronounced – current as in fast flowing water.) Hope this helps get you started. We’ve always known the Brits have a different humor gene than Americans. Perhaps ours was killed by scurvy on the ships when we made the crossing! At any rate, Elliot’s jokes are worth understanding! They crack me (and little Gayle) up!

A Typical Day in the Life of a May December Couple

The day is only typical if it happens to be Phabulous Photo Shoot Day with Libby!

This one\'s for Libby!

Libby told us to say BIG CHEESE!

Ron’s had about all the fun he can stand!

All 5 OF US

(Shorty is with Ron, Gayle has her arm around Freddie, and
Betty is on her back getting some belly scratching.
Betty is 16 years old.  Freddie is 5 and Shorty is somewhere
between 3-5 years old.  We’ve only had him for a year.)

This is what it looks like when Gayle is frying bacon.  No wonder they call bacon flavored dog treats Beggin Strips!
