Fairy Tales: The Unabridged Versions

??????? ?? ???????? ?????? ? ??????? «????? ??...

You get to write the ending!

(Posted by Gayle)

Do you remember one of the first signs that the “new” might be wearing off in a relationship you were in?  I do NOT mean the beginning of the end.  I mean the part where you got a bit more comfortable being human.  For me it was not running to brush my teeth before kissing Ron good morning and I can still remember when it became an option to sleep clothed.

Sometimes getting more comfortable with each other may bring along a sense of disillusionment which might feel like the “romance” is over.  I think you can kiss without brushed teeth, sleep without makeup, wear your night-guard or CPAP machine, sleep in flannel pajamas and still find lots of romance. But you may have to work at:

  • creating it,
  • expanding your definition of it,
  • looking more closely to find it.

My sense is that this subject is one of the most important issues a couple will face after they’ve been together for a few years.    How they resolve it will predict their future happiness with each other and in their marriage.

But before we delve too deeply into such a serious topic, let’s have some fun. We hope you’ll get in on the act as well!  That’s what our comments section is for!

What if:

  • when Rapunzel let down her hair, the prince discovered in addition to growing her head hair, her arm pit hair also grew to extreme lengths?
  • when the prince kissed Sleeping Beauty she had an extreme case of morning breath with a sprinkling of gingivitis?
  • Prince charming found Cinderalla’s foot only to discover she had never heard of a the Pedi-Egg and also had some serious toenail fungus?
  • Snow White had to explain to her Prince that she and the dwarves had “special” relationships and that he would have to share?
  • the Pretty Woman, wasn’t so very pretty after the birth of their children and the guy played by Richard Geer needed a little blue pill to get things rolling (so to speak).  I always wonder if he ever went below the belt when they had their first big fight and called her a …. well you know it rhymes with poor and speaking of which, what if he lost all of his money in the stock market?

Would it still be “happily ever after” or “still together after all these years?”

I could go on forever, but it would really be more fun if you would join me.  Just keep them rated PG please.  Add your own alternate ending in our comments section.  Heck, pass on the post to your friends.  We would love to hear their alternate endings as well!

    Comment from Ron:

I can take a lesson from my parents who were married for more than 60 years. I would say “happily most of the time, angry sometimes yet they loved each other’s companionship enough to be together until death parted them.”
